Club President - James Phillips president@buccaneersrugby.com
James, a halfback, has been with the Buccaneers since 1998 and is one of the longest serving members of the club. James is a former Buccs captain and was MVP in 2007. Before the Buccs he played with the Bancroft Blackflies RFC. James returns yet again as club president for another year of tyranny.
Club Captain - Fraser Cook captain@buccaneersrugby.com
It is with pride we welcome our new captain Fraser to captain the Buccs side for 2013. A strong and tenacious back row player, Fraser was the 2010 Most Improved recipient in addition to winning the Heart & Soul award in 2012. Fraser promises to make every effort to lead the team to it's best for the 2013 season.
Secretary - Sean Webb info@buccaneersrugby.com
Sean returns to the Executive for another year as secretary. A prop by nature, he is better known for his work with the Ontario Ministry of Health and saving the world. Another former member of the Toronto Lions RFC, Sean has committed to spending his golden years with the Buccaneers along with mainting order and proper seating at the Executive meetings.
Fixtures, Child Protection Officer - Vincent Picone fixtures@buccaneersrugby.com
Now into his third year of rugby, Vinny has once again agreed to manage the Buccs fixtures and provide valuable insight at our executive meetings. Shoring up his rugby knowledge last year by helping to coach his high school rugby team, Vinnie is a strong back row player who knows how to run straight.
Treasurer, Website - Jay McDonnell treasurer@buccaneersrugby.com; webmaster@buccaneersrugby.com
After the deportation of our last treasurer to Brazil, Jay steps into the position with a strong background in financial management, which we would like to tell you about, but no one knows what Jay does for a living. That said he already has responsibility for the club website and coordinated setting up our PayPal account, so he brings relevant experience to the position. He hopes one day to actually have signing authority over the Buccs account so he can properly embezel club funds.
Social Director - Joey Neglia social@buccaneersrugby.com
Joey takes over this year as the club's social director bringing with him a passion for social events, not the least of which being the Buccs infamous and annual poker tournament. A strong and extremely speedy back line/winger, Joey was the 2012 receipient of the Most Improved award. The executive is looking forward to his fresh outlook on our social schedule and implementation, in addition to his outstanding ability to raise our spending numbers at the Fox and Fiddle.
Fundraising - Davin Brown fundraising@buccaneersrugby.com
Davin continues his role of Fundraising after our last position holder's deportation back to England. Thanks in large part to his efforts the club managed to raise herculean amounts of money last year, which were promtly diverted to an offshore bank account in the Caymen Islands. A never-give-up second row jumper, this will be Davin's fifith year with the Buccaneers.
Recruitment - Dan Mossip-Balkwell recruit@buccaneersrugby.com
After a fiercly contested candidacy for the role, Dan steps in to the executive team to assist in Recruitment. The executive will have to work hard to curb his extreme enthusiasm for the position and keep him grounded, however is truly excited to have him on board and sharing his vast network of friends interested in playing rugby. Assuming Dan can bring even half the amount of heart he puts into playing to the position, the Buccs will be in solid shape for new recruits for years to come.
Junior Development Officer - Richard Williams juniors@buccaneersrugby.com
With thanks to his and club president James Phillip's momunmental efforts last year in starting the juior program, Richie continues his role this year with high ambitions to field both U16 and U18 junior squads. Richie brings a wealth of rugby knowledge to the juniors, having played the game almost his entire life. While he may not be as active on the pitch anymore he more than males up for it in his enthusiastic teaching of the game to new generations of players.
